This trip is entirely devoted to the history of the uprising of the Decembrists – the first revolutionaries of Russia. We will recall their cultural contribution to the development of Siberia and will talk about the exploit of their wives who were not afraid to follow their beloved to places of hard labor. We will visit the places of stay of the Decembrists in Irkutsk and trace their way from punishment to pardon.
Main Attractions: the Moscow Gate, Our Lady of the Sign Nunnery, the Our Lady of the Sign Necropolis, the Irkutsk Prison Castle, the houses of the Decembrists Volkonsky, Trubetskoy and Mukhanov, the Transfiguration Church, the tombs of Podzhio, Muravyev, Yushnevskiy, the White house, the chancellery building of the Governor-General.
