04:00-07:30 Meeting with the guide. Early departure from the city of Irkutsk. Transfer to the ferry to Olkhon Island.
07:30-08:30 Breakfast in one of the roadside cafes.
08:30-10:00 Transfer from a ferry crossing by an off-road vehicle to the village of Khalgay (Ulan-Khushin) and further to the border of the protected area of the Pribaikalsky National Park.

10:00-11:30 The beginning of the walking part of the route from the border of the protected area of the Pribaikalsky National Park to Tay-Tay boundary (6 km).
11:30-13:00 Continuation of the hike along the eastern shore of Olkhon island (5 km), the trail goes along a pine forest with sections of windbreak.

13:00-14:00 Climbing to the Mount Zhima along a rocky ridge among juniper and spruce forests which is unique to this part of Lake Baikal (3 km).

14:00-15:00 Lunch at the foot of the top of Mount Zhima at the camping area.

15:00-19:00 Return to the meeting point at the border of the protected area of the Pribaikalsky National Park (14 km).
18:30-19:30 Transfer to the village of Khuzhir. Dinner at the village.
19:30-20:30 Transfer to ferry crossing by off-road vehicle.
20:30-00:00 Return to Irkutsk.

Duration: 20 hours, 28 km on foot.

Main attractions: the spiritual capital of Siberia, the valley of stone spirits, Buryat navel of the earth, rock paintings of Mount Sakhyurta, the largest island of Lake Baikal, the heart of Lake Baikal, the peak of the Baikal triangle, Cape Khoboi, the deepest place of Lake Baikal, the sacred mountain of Zhima.
