Wooden lace of Irkutsk

During this trip we will see the wooden lace of the spiritual capital of Siberia. There are no city in Russia that can boast such an abundance of styles and the number of monuments of wooden architecture as in Irkutsk. We will visit only the most interesting of them. We will see forgotten but unusually real gingerbread houses, mansions of merchants, townspeople and celebrities of the city of Irkutsk. We will learn about the appearance of wooden houses, what traditions were observed during their construction, what these mysterious patterns on the walls and windows mean.

The main attractions: Zhelyabov wooden quarter, House-Museum of the Decembrist Volkonsky and Trubetskoy, Mansion of Shastin (House of Europe), Rassusyn House on the Karl Liebknecht street, Mansion of the famous Russian orientalist Podgorbunsky, House-Museum of city head Sukachev, Gryaznov wooden quarter, Shubin's House – the oldest one in Irkutsk, Mansion of Rasushin, Butin, the house with the monogram (a private residence of Kuznetsov), Irkutsk Sloboda (130th quarter).

Duration: 3 hours.

Visit to the museum: not planned.

The cost of the tour includes:
  • rent of comfortable transport for 3 hours,
  • service of a qualified guide for 3 hours.
Restriction on age: the excursion is not recommended for persons under the age of 7 years.

The excursion can be combined with a visit to: Museum of Urban Life (+100/150 rubles), the estate of city head Vladimir Sukachev (+100/150 rubles), the house-museum of the Decembrists Volkonsky and Trubetskoy (+ 170 / 350 rubles).
